UW-Madison scientist Beth Dumont last week found herself gingerly checking dozens of mouse traps on UW-Madison’s Biocore Prairie in search of an answer to this question: Would using wild mice for lab study give researchers more accurate information about nature’s workings than the traditional, inbred lab mice?
